Hey! I'm so glad you're here! I'm a girl mom to a toddler with another little girl on the way. I am a people-pleaser who is obsessed with home decor and why I became a home stager and interior stylist. My hope is that I can inspire you to believe that a beautifully styled home is achievable. Holiday decorating is underway! The holidays are my favorite time of year and I love decorating for them. This time of year is so cozy and I love the feeling of bundling up in a blanket with the fireplace going while watching a Christmas movie. I got our shelves decorated today and I really like this as a starting point. I have also decided that I want to make some photo books that we can start collecting throughout the years. I have so many pictures on my phone. Most of them are homes I’ve staged but there’s so many of our family that just hide on here that deserve to be admired (or laughed at) 😁 If you do a photo book every year, where do you get them printed?

I am so excited for this new year! It’s the year we will add another baby girl to our family and that’s what I’m most excited for but I am also really excited for the fresh start. This year I want to simplify my life. Things have gotten so chaotic and even unmanageable at times and I am looking forward to this year to simplify things.

What that looks like:
- In my business, I want to simplify my processes and automate what I can. I also want to hire an assistant.
- In my home, I want to declutter and get more intentional about how I decorate and organize.
- With my time, I want to do more of the things I love and evolve my hobbies.

These are all things that I can control when life seems chaotic and out of hand. I’m so excited to see what 2025 brings and would love to support you in your goals too! Comment your word for the year and let’s be accountability buddies!

If you asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would always tell you I wanted to be a mom. That was all I knew for sure about what I wanted to do. I went to collage and changed my major like 12 times (ok only 5 times) because I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do and nothing seemed right.

Once I had my first child, I knew I wanted to be apart of her life and witness all of her firsts. I knew if I missed anything, I’d be devastated! I quit my job to be home with her and it was wonderful! I loved it so much but the days all started to feel the same. Wake up, play, nap, eat, play some more, eat some more and go to bed. I started to feel like I was losing myself and needed something for me. I felt so guilty that I wasn’t feeling fulfilled in motherhood alone. I needed more but I wasn’t willing to give up time away from my daughter either.

I started my staging company and it has been the best thing I could have done for myself and for my family. I am so much happier when I am staging. I love that my daughter can come with me and is learning the ropes. She’s become so helpful and enjoys working with mom too. There are days where I feel guilty that she isn’t getting enough socialization with kids her age or that I’m not giving her enough attention but then I am reminded that I wouldn’t be where I am in life if it weren’t a part of God’s greater plan for me.

Before the holidays end and the winter blues set in, I wanted to remind you of this simple fact: happy people prioritize things that make them happy. It seems so obvious and simple and I think that’s why it’s easy to forget.

Winter can be a hard time for people but making time to do things you love can be so impactful for your life. I started this business because I love decorating and helping people. I get to do both with each stage we do and each remodel I help with. It’s my passion and being able to be flexible to make sure my kids are my top priority has been a huge factor in my overall happiness.

Do you ever feel like life is a full on sprint but you’re on a hamster wheel going nowhere fast? That’s how I’ve felt lately. I’ve got so much to do before this year ends. So much to do before this baby comes. So much to do in my business. So many things to clean and organize in my home.

Last night Oakley reminded me that it’s ok to slow down. Life isn’t a race. It’s not about how fast I can get her to sleep so I can work on things or how fast we can get through dinner. She’s only this little once and if she wants to rock and snuggle, I’m going to rock and snuggle. Who knows how many more times she is going to want to.

So if you’re running this race called life, here’s your reminder that it’s ok to slow down and smell the roses. Whatever is on your to do list will still be there when you’re ready to work on it.

We are so excited for Baby Hanks to get here in May!

What this means for The Hanks Home: business will continue as usual. We have been planning and preparing for me to be pregnant and all of the challenges that come with pregnancy. We have some movers that we work with to help move the bigger pieces of furniture and Brady has taken on the destages if I am too sick to help. I am so beyond grateful for him and all he has done to help our business keep going. I am still doing all of the design work behind the stages and I’m am getting more and more energy back as the days go on. Thank you to those that have worked with us the last few months while we worked out the kinks. We are so grateful for your patience!

Ugh… I hate blinking… my baby is 3! When did she get so big!?

The number one reason I tell people to physically stage their home when listing it for sale, whether it’s vacant, occupied or even a new build, is because physically staging your home helps people fall even more in love with your home. Virtual staging might get people in the door but they can be disappointed when they walk in and see that it’s actually empty. Staging helps accentuate all the great parts about your home and distracts from what can be an eye sore if it’s left vacant.

What do you love most about your kitchen? I think so many people think about what they would want to change about their kitchens. I know I do. But I love the functionality of my kitchen!

When I’m staging homes, my job is to highlight the best features of the house and in this home, I loved the beautiful built-ins in the kitchen. I could imagine families gathering together and having this area be where they drop their keys and gather for a minute while getting a drink or a snack.

If you could only stage 1 area, stage the main living spaces. It makes a huge difference for buyers walking though homes and helps them envision themselves in the home.

This home has some pretty cool features and is one of my favorites lately. I think I say that about every home but this one made me a little home sick for my home town. I just love looking out at the rolling fields and hearing sprinklers going in the summer. I also bet the sunsets here would be amazing to watch!
